I’m starting out my new Movie Review section with my favorite movie of all-time! What can I say that hasn’t already been said? Let’s find out. 😀
Well I saw this movie as a kid and didn’t know it then that, for me, it would stand the test of time. This movie both captures my imagination and speaks to the inner child in me, as well as my adult sensibilities. This movie has it all with alienation from school bullies, dysfunctional families, and authority to meaningful dreams, grade-school infatuation, and underage-drinking to building a star ship, traveling in space and meeting aliens! This movie is an all out sci-fi adventure!
My criticisms of the movie include it’s non-ethnic diverseness, lack of female representation, brief playground violence, and having no sequel.
All in all I give this movie a 5 out of 5 because I love it! (I’ll be using the Netflix rating system as it’s ideal for my purposes; 1. Hated It, 2. Didn’t Like It, 3. Liked It, 4. Really Liked It, 5. Loved It!)

Nice idea to start out with a favorite movie. Will you be reviewing movies that you hate too? I’ve definitely seen my share of movies where one has to “dig” for what is good in them. Can’t wait to read about those 😀
